The opening day of the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show saw a steady flow of visitors most of the day and from reports quite a number of boat sales were made. Thanks to everyone who came and stopped by our stand in Hall 2 and entered our $8000 subscription prize. Also appreciated the feedback about the magazine and what you like or don’t like to read.

We have been blown away with the number of cool comments about the Classic Offshore Raceboat feature. Seems it touch a few memory strings with ex racers and fans of the early years of racing.

A quick chat to a number of exhibitors gave us the impression that once again this is going to be a positive show. Scott Williamson from Sports Marine says the enquiry level for their Nimbus cruisers was exceptional, as did Steve McLay when asked about the new amphibious Raptor 741. There is a lot of new innovative products to check out, an entire hall devoted to fishing gear and some stunning boats.

But don’t just take our word for it, the show doesn’t close till Sunday night so you have all weekend to get along and check out some of the best boats and marine products in New Zealand. And make sure you drop by and say hi to the PowerBoat Magazine team.

The show held at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenland Rd, opens at 10.00 am on Saturday/Sunday.
