Maritimo X50

Barry 2019-07-19

The Maritimo X50 sport yacht had its world premiere at the recent 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and now it's heading for Sydney.

Already the vessel has been an international success with multiple sales recorded around the globe, mirroring the global rollout of its larger sibling the X60 which was unveiled at last year's Sanctuary Cove show.

The X50, with its unique aft cabin accommodation options, will follow Sanctuary Cove with exhibitions throughout Australia, New Zealand and North America in the remainder of 2019, the next being the 2019 Sydney International Boat Show, Aug 1-5.

The latest addition to the revolutionary X-Series line has already added to what has been one of the most successful product launches in Maritimo's history, following the international response to the release of the X60 last May.

X-Series lead designer Tom Barry-Cotter said the X-series was revolutionary in the sector and made a strong statement that Maritimo is a united team committed to further establishing itself as industry leaders in design and performance.

From its race infused bloodline, the X50's powerful exterior form blankets an innovative web of simplistic and functional arrangements integrated with advanced design features that set it apart from competitors.

The new X50 features a customisable aft accommodation space that increases the size of living spaces in the forward accommodation and neutrally balances the hull for enhanced performance, fuel economy and ride comfort.

Accessible from both saloon and swim platform deck, the aft accommodation space features a standard beach club cabin with ensuite.

The area has been perfected for use as an entertainment and watersports hub, with the added ability to convert to guest stateroom via a standard folding double bed integrated into the rear bar. Versatility designed into the X50's aft accommodation space also enables this area to be optioned and utilised as a single twin stateroom with ensuite or 3.2-metre tender garage.

Advantages achieved through the X50's innovative accommodation design are not limited to just unique, versatile spaces but also integrate critical balance and performance characteristics via the neutral positioning of engines and mass while optimising driveshaft angle.

All X Series boats are shaft drive with X50#1 powered by a pair of Volvo Penta D11/670hp engines, which gives a top speed of 33 knots and cruise of 23-25 knots. On the trip from the Gold Coast to Sydney, the X50 was put through some seriously rough sea conditions and reports are it performed exceptionally well.

The X50 design team has gone further than ever in the analysis of water flow over the hull. All underwater components have been analysed and designed with an obsessive consideration of drag reduction, creating as efficient a hull as possible.

In addition to the X-Series' aft accommodation features and options, the new X50 includes two expansive staterooms and ensuites in the forward accommodation spaces.

The saloon design incorporates optional sliding vista windows that flank each side of the hardtop letting in an abundance of light and air. An optional galley positioned sunroof provides even more light and ventilation.

The vast cockpit space features heavy weather bi-fold cockpit-saloon doors, rear euro seating, and starboard side entertainment unit. Protective walk around decks connects the cockpit with the forward deck entertainment area, featuring sun-lounge bed and adjustable backrests.
